I finished it in 2 days, it was very engaging book made me go and forth on images, things i missed. Although the end felt incomplete. Love the author!

I must say book had so many arcs and so many complicated relations, every move was made on trust and mutual love for each other. I really liked the book cause i was not able to predict anything till the last moment. overall a good read.

Again very engaging book, I’m very fascinated by the author — so I do think I have a bias now. Again finished it in two days, very engaging, helped me understand the psychology of people who join cults. They covered so many things, very mysterious. Loved it!

Mother Mary Comes to Me

Mother Mary Comes to Me

Arundhati Roy
★★★★★★★★★★

One of those books that makes you think about why people behave the way they do, how society changes with success, and the many realities of India that no one really talks about. It was an amazing read — it covers so much, but what stayed with me most was how she explored different paths before finding what she truly loved. It reminded me that it’s okay to take your own time to figure things out, and that not everything has to happen on someone else’s timeline.

Dolly Alderton
★★★★★★★★★★

I started this for no particular reason, but the story felt strange at first. For some reason, it reminds you of your first breakup and everything that went wrong — you start to relate to the protagonist, even if your life is going perfectly fine. It’s a good read if you’re going through a breakup. P.S. I wasn’t heartbroken, but yeah, I’d reread it.

Everything I Know About Love

Everything I Know About Love

Dolly Alderton
★★★★★★★★★★

Initially the book felt quite pretentious, and I was really trying hard for at least the first 50 pages to stay interested. But eventually, as it moved into adulthood, I started relating to the story, and it began to make sense. It has insights into how love can show up in unexpected ways. It’s funny, and yeah, overall a good read, though definitely a bit overhyped.

Cat People

Cat People

Devapriya Roy
★★★★★★★★★★

I read this book while travelling — it went with me to Ooty, Delhi, and Manali. It’s a collection of short cat stories, each one different and not connected to the others. I’d read a few, take breaks, travel, and giggle along the way. Loved it for the cuteness it carries! P.S. I’m a cat person.

The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book

Neil Gaiman
★★★★★★★★★★

The book has magic woven all through it — the boy, his friendships, and the mysterious world of all creatures. It’s an amazing story overall. I read most of it in Cubbon, and I loved how it made me feel calm, curious, a little enchanted. The dance, the descriptions of places, the dresses, and the looks are all so perfectly written that you can imagine the characters seamlessly. Loved it!

Bunny

Bunny

Mona Awad
★★★★★★★★★★

I’d say the story overall felt quite vague, dark, witty, and strange in places. There were parts I didn’t like, but I didn’t hate it either. It’s one of those books that leaves you unsure of what to feel. I won’t suggest it.

Butter

Butter

Asako Yuzuki
★★★★★★★★★★

The book felt intriguing once I found out it’s based on a real story. There’s even a recipe in it for rice with soy sauce and butter, which I really want to try! The story explores taste (in every sense), and the weight of expectations around womanhood. What I loved is how these themes are explored through food, body, and relationships, all without being overly dramatic or preachy.

The Rosie Project

The Rosie Project

Graeme Simsion
★★★★★★★★★★

It’s a story about a scientist who starts a project to find himself a wife but ends up helping his friend search for her real father, and along the way, finds love in her instead. It’s basically a rom-com in book form — light, funny, and heartwarming in a quirky way.

Strange Pictures

★★★★★★★★★★

Started reading it while travelling to Bali, and honestly the story was so addicting that I finished it before my vacation even ended. It’s mysterious and dark. Loved it! Honestly, I don’t want to add anything to give the plot away.

The God of the Woods

The God of the Woods

Liz Moore
★★★★★★★★★★

Loved it! I actually started it twice — the first few chapters felt a bit long and overly descriptive, but once the story picked up, it turned into a full-on thriller-mystery. I found myself gasping and picturing every scene, and by the end I just wanted a part two.

A Thousand Splendid Suns

A Thousand Splendid Suns

Khaled Hosseini
★★★★★★★★★★

The book carries so much sorrow and pain — it shows how women in Afghanistan live under restrictions and how those rules shape their lives. Even though it’s set years ago, it reminded me of when the Taliban took over again, and how we all just moved on after seeing it in the news. Mariam’s life is filled with sadness and only rare moments of happiness. The story is heavy with emotion, and it stays with you long after. Will recommend reading it!

The Bell Jar

The Bell Jar

Sylvia Plath
★★★★★★★★★★

Cult classic! Tbh, the fig tree analogy was something truly worth thinking about. The way Sylvia Plath describes not being able to read, eat, or sleep, or the feeling that the floor can’t fall any lower, stays with you. Her journey from being a writer in New York to ending up in an asylum is sad yet deeply intriguing. The book feels heavy but real, full of thoughts and emotions that linger long after you close it. A painful but necessary read.

The Lion Women of Tehran

The Lion Women of Tehran

Marjan Kamali
★★★★★★★★★★

Read it because of the hype on Instagram! Honestly, I didn’t feel a deep emotional connection while reading it. The story follows two friends — one rich, one poor. One leaves Tehran for the U.S., while the other stays behind and becomes an activist fighting for women’s rights. It’s both sad and happy in parts, but overall it felt like a casual, light read.

Yumi and the Nightmare Painter

Yumi and the Nightmare Painter

Brandon Sanderson
★★★★★★★★★★

Beautiful writting! I like how two main characters for tow different worlds learn and understand each other. Ngl it’s little bit like movie in your name. Loved it!

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

Gabrielle Zevin
★★★★★★★★★★

The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was the line on the back cover “A love story without romance” I couldn't agree more. As a designer, I especially loved reading about how they built games, collaborated, and navigated the highs and lows of making something together. That part felt personal and engaging. More than anything, it's a story about friendship, ambition, creativity, and how deeply people can shape each other's lives.

Daytripper

Daytripper

Fábio Moon & Gabriel Bá
★★★★★★★★★★

This was a gift and I think the person know me well now. Also about book, every chapter made me pause and think about how unpredictable life is and how every moment, no matter how simple, can completely change its course. The artwork is stunning and adds so much emotion.

Little Women

Little Women

Louisa May Alcott
★★★★★★★★★★

Felt like a warm hug in book form. I loved how each of the sisters had such distinct personalities, and it was easy to see parts of myself in all of them at different points. It's a quiet story, but it's full of heart, showing that growing up isn't about becoming perfect and life is about learning, making mistakes, and staying true to yourself. It’s a timeless book!

The House in the Cerulean Sea

The House in the Cerulean Sea

TJ Klune
★★★★★★★★★★

Very wholesome book! Lots of characters you can't help but root for. I loved how it reminds you that family isn't always the one you're born into sometimes it's the one you find in your journey. The magical world is charming, so many emotions in the background between the characters that makes this book special.

Daughters of Madurai

Daughters of Madurai

Rajasree Variyar
★★★★★★★★★★

very complicated characters, I mean it’s like watching incredible movie and there is a interval where the secrets unfold and you try to make sense of the past! It touches the topics like divorce, affair and female foeticide delicately. At one point I had tears in eyes cause after enduring so much she thrived!

Normal People

Normal People

Sally Rooney

3.5/5 I mean it’s a good book but not a book which I’ll reread but much better than series, I tried watching series I could not! The character development from school to college and how they evolved is amazing. very engaging book but yeah sadly I won’t recommend it

A Man Called Ove

A Man Called Ove

Fredrik Backman
★★★★★★★★★★

Cute story! At start it was boring but then slowly it starts with how he moved to the place, how that place developed and honestly loved his relationship with a cat. Initially he will come out as a grumpy guy but the kindness he shows to neighbours and cat will make your heart melt.

Anxious People

Anxious People

Incredible story! It’s hostage situation at room viewing, each character has a story and incredibly how the hostages helped kidnaper. I mean I don’t know what to write but so many emotions and also it gives perspective on things can change.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane

The Ocean at the End of the Lane

Neil gaiman is an amazing writer, when I was reading I imagined the scenes and it was heavily borrowed visuals from harry potter. Good story, there is magic, friendship and mystery

Breaks my heart to write a review for this, it’s a good story made me realise it’s a luck that I’m born in India

Maus

I think the writer knew he cannot have human illustrations to share the story! It was devastating to read about something which happened in real life, must read! amazing artwork!
